LPPCC History

Le Page Park Cricket Club
is based in the south eastern suburb of Cheltenham in the city of Melbourne. The club was formed in 1983 when two long time clubs merged, Southmoor CC and East Cheltenham CC, after a number of seasons where each club were struggling for numbers.

The name Le Page Park was chosen because that was the name of the park where the club would play its home games. The club has two full size, fenced grounds side by side with a large pavilion and training nets in between. Both grounds have been re-surfaced in recent seasons. It provides an ideal atmosphere for a cricket club.

Since our formation, the club has become one of the stronger and larger local cricket clubs in the region, and this coming season 2019/20 will field 6 senior teams, 12 junior teams including 2 Girls Only teams, along with the grassroots introductory cricket programs for younger children, being Junior Blasters and Master Blasters.

We pride ourselves on being inclusive and our club is very happy to be known as the “family club”, whilst still being fiercely competitive at every level.

We pride ourselves on being inclusive and our club is very happy to be known as the “family club”, whilst still being fiercely competitive at every level.

We compete in and are affiliated with the South East Cricket Association (SECA), formerly the City of Moorabbin Cricket Association (CMCA), which is one of the largest cricket associations in Australia, and regarded by Cricket Australia as one of the best run competitions in the country, and is also regarded as the strongest synthetic wicket competition in Melbourne, with players such as Shane Warne, Brad Hodge and Rob Quiney returning to their junior clubs within our competition in recent years to compete against our current talent.

We are also affiliated with the All Girls Cricket Competition (AGCC) and their governing body Cricket Southern Bayside (CSB).

In our 39 year history, we have won 12 senior premierships and 12 junior premierships, including our first ever Longmuir Shield premiership and the U18 premiership in 2017/18, both are the premier grade in senior and junior cricket respectively in the SECA competitions.

We offer nearly every type of cricketing experience from Woolworths Junior Blasters and Master Blasters, Mixed Junior Cricket, All Girls Junior Cricket and Senior Cricket. We are looking forward to introducing Senior Womens Cricket to the club this season. This will complete the girls cricket pathway, giving them the opportunity to play from aged 5 to Senior Womens Cricket at the one great club!
